The picture speaks for itself. The cause? A space heater plugged into a power bar. Always plug space heaters directly into an outlet and never into an extension cord, especially not a power bar. They are not rated to handle the current required and can result in disaster, more likely in the middle of the night when that heater is working its hardest.

Members from Coldstream Fire Hall met up with members from Vernon North Okanagan RCMP at Kidston Elementary School this morning, with lights flashing and candy canes flowing to "Cram the Cruiser" and "Fill the Firetruck" with donations for the local food bank. Despite a conspicuous lack of snow, the kids galore and Christmas music made for a jolly time!

HALLOWEEN FIREWORKS this Saturday, October 25! Event starts at 6pm with fireworks at 8pm! There will be burgers, hotdogs and mini doughnuts! Big bonfire to stay warm! Help make this one even better than last year! Should be an awesome show! 🍔 🌭 🎇.

Just a reminder of the pumpkin sale this Saturday in Lavington. Event starts at the Canco at school road and hwy 6 at 9am! Be there early for the best selection! Event goes until all the pumpkind are gone! Pumpkins are by donation with all money raised going to the fireworks display October 25 at 8:00pm.

Wow, way to go!

Thank you to all the residents of Lavington for your contributions to the annual Lavington & Lumby Food Bank food drive tonight. Over 1200lbs of food was collected along with $275 in cash. Well done!
