People often assume wolfdogs would make good guard dogs. But in reality, many wolfdogs are naturally cautious around unfamiliar people. In the wild, wolves survive by avoiding danger whenever possible, and this nature instict to observe and avoid unfamiliar situations can still be seen in wolfdogs.

Mother’s Day weekend is here, and we are open Sunday, May 10th from 10am to 5pm. 🐺🌷

Spend the day exploring the Sanctuary with the mom or mother figure in your life through a peaceful Sanctuary Walk, Intro Tour, or our Interactive Tour. We currently have a couple of spots remaining for the 3:30pm Interactive Tour, though we recommend booking soon as spots are limited and typically sell out.

While we do not do any breeding at the Sanctuary, some of our wolfdogs became mothers before arriving here. Meeka is the mother of the Temple Pack (Eska, Arrluk & Juneau), while Iiqooa is the mother of the Castle Pack (Sylen & Kiore).

We also have wolfdogs who have stepped into nurturing, mother like roles for younger wolfdogs over the years. Rue helped raise both The Salty 6 (Sage, Juniper, Willow, Cedar, Ash & Yarrow) as well as The Noodles (Penne & Gnocchi).

We’re teaming up with our friends at Rocky View Brewing Company for a night of Musical Bingo, all in support of the rescued wolfdogs at Yamnuska Wolfdog Sanctuary! 🐺🍺

It’s going to be a fun evening of music, bingo, and awesome prizes courtesy of amazing local businesses such as Kelsey's Caravan and Cochrane Movie House. Even better? Every ticket sold helps us provide care, food, and shelter for the wolfdogs who call the Sanctuary home.

We’d love for you to join us on Friday, May 22nd! Grab your tickets here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/music-bingo-fundraiser-for-yamnuska-wolfdog-sanctuary-tickets-1988278579755

More than just a stop between Calgary and Banff 🐺 this is an experience that makes a difference.

With our Interactive Tour, you’ll step into the world of wolfdogs. Hear their real stories, understand the challenges they face, and discover what truly sets them apart from the dogs we share our homes with.

Every visit directly supports the rescued wolfdogs in our care.

Spots fill quickly, and advance booking is required for the Interactive Tour.

Please note: Interaction is never guaranteed on the Interactive Tour. Every wolfdog has their own comfort level with people, and their well-being always comes first. Nothing is ever forced, everything is on their terms.
