Cornerstone Family Violence Prevention Centre Cornerstone Family Violence Prevention Centre (formerly Northumberland Services for Women) We have been a United Way member agency since our inception.

Formerly known as Northumberland Service for Women, Cornerstone Family Violence Prevention Centre’s vision is a community committed to healthy, respectful relationships free from family violence. We provide immediate shelter, counselling and prevention services throughout Northumberland County to women and children of all ages who have been the victims of violence. Our children need to learn healthy respectful relationships from an early age. Cornerstone’s new direction into providing prevention services is about helping children learn about healthy relationships and supporting them in becoming adults who will value healthy, respectful relationships. Family violence is not just a women’s issue – it is a community issue. Family Violence will not end until we all decide that abuse, control and disrespect in relationships is unacceptable, and hold ourselves and everyone else to that belief.
