Ontario Community Emergency Assistance Program - OCEAP Search & Rescue OCEAP - Volunteer Ground Search & Rescue Team providing emergency assistance and disaster response in Northumberland County, Ontario.

We assist local police in missing person cases, evidence searches or manning road barricades / closures. It is a policy of OCEAP to post or re-post official reports from the police services of missing persons within Northumberland County and the surrounding areas. This policy includes the REMOVAL of posts once the missing person has been located. This is done to respect the privacy of the individual and to ensure that a post from OCEAP does not cause future distress.

At a ceremony last night, the Ontario Municipal Fire Prevention Officers Association named Jason Williams the 2026 Fire Chief of the Year, recognizing his outstanding career in public safety, fire prevention, emergency management, fire investigations, and mentorship across Ontario.

As our Director of Fire and Emergency Services/Fire Chief, Chief Williams is widely respected for his forward-thinking approach to community risk reduction, firefighter development, and public education.

As OCEAP celebrates 20 years of service, members attended the Team meeting on Wednesday evening at Venture13 in Cobourg. New one year members and new Route Support Leaders were recognized. Individual awards from the Port Hope Civic Awards for Community Service were also presented to the 2025 members. Thank you to our member and guest speaker for an informative presentation on mental health. We look forward to an exciting 2026.
