While we never hope to see emergencies increase, each call is a reminder of the dedication shown by our members and volunteers who continue to answer the call when our community needs them.

Stay safe, Coaldale.

🚨May Call Volume Update🚨

So far this month, our crews have responded to 27 calls for service, with 13 of those calls coming since last Friday.

For comparison, May 2025 finished with 68 total calls, and our 2026 year-to-date call volume is now sitting at exactly 300 calls.

Huge honour for Ladders to Learning and the Coaldale & District Volunteer Firefighter Association!

We are proud to share that Ladders to Learning has received the Palliser School Division 2025/2026 Exemplary Service Award as a Community Partner in Coaldale.

This recognition means a lot to us because Ladders to Learning has always been about one simple goal: helping students and families feel prepared, valued, and supported.

None of this happens without the support of our firefighters, volunteers, community partners, schools, donors, and everyone who continues to believe in this program. Your generosity is what allows us to keep showing up for local kids and families in meaningful ways.

Thank you to the Palliser School Division for this incredible recognition, and thank you to our community for standing behind Ladders to Learning and our Coaldale & District Volunteer Firefighter Association. We are grateful, humbled, and excited to keep building on this work. ❤️

Huge shoutout to our local Buster's Pizza & Donair for their continued generosity and support of the Coaldale Fire Department and the Coaldale & District Volunteer Firefighter Association.

Our senior members attending the Officer's Meeting were blown away by their kind gesture of donating supper in recognition of Emergency Services Week.

Buster's is always willing to support where they can, and we are truly grateful. Please consider showing them some love and supporting this great local business!

We all have a role to play in emergency preparedness. Emergency services are the first call for help, but depending on the size and severity of the situation, there could be delays reaching your community.

Households are encouraged to build self-reliance by preparing to meet their needs for a minimum of 72 hours.

But always remember that we are “In It Together.” Building strong social ties, practicing preparedness habits and sharing them with your community helps build community resilience to achieve better outcomes during and after an emergency.

As Emergency Preparedness Week comes to a close, remember that you can take small steps and add them to your routine to build resilience over time.

Preparedness isn’t just for a week, but a series of habits built upon year-round and every day.
