Markets in the Park Season Wrap-Up

Due to the forecasted rain and cold weather, tomorrow's Market in the Park has been cancelled.

As we wrap up another wonderful season, we'd like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of the vendors who joined us throughout the summer. We were fortunate to have such a fantastic group of people each week, and your participation helped make the market a welcoming and vibrant gathering place for our community.

We would also like to thank the service groups and volunteers who came out week after week to provide free treats, lemonade, activities, and support. Your contributions helped create a fun and enjoyable experience for everyone who attended.

Many people may not realize that each adult vendor pays a $20 weekly vendor fee to participate in the market. These funds are not only used to support the market itself, but also help fund small community events and free family-friendly activities throughout the year. This fundraising effort allows us to offer more opportunities for residents and visitors to enjoy without placing additional financial strain on local businesses, Town Council, or municipal budgets.

Every vendor fee, volunteer hour, and community partnership helps us continue offering the events and activities that make Claresholm such a great place to live, work, and visit.

Thank you for another great market season. We appreciate your support and look forward to seeing everyone again next year!

We’ve heard through the grapevine… and maybe from sitting in on a few planning meetings … that this year’s Business Awards are going to be NEXT LEVEL!

Friday, September 11th, 2026 - Notice to the Public:

There is a one-year old bear in a tree at the corner of Derochie Drive and 8th Street West.

Fish & Wildlife will not be attending as the bear is not aggressive. The Municipal Enforcement Officer is at the location and will be on site until the kids in the area are home safely from school following early dismissal.

Please DO NOT approach the tree or further upset the bear in any way. If possible, avoid the area completely. Be aware of your surroundings and let him find his way out of the area on his own.

Community Futures Alberta Southwest is launching a Rural Business Blueprint Series, designed for anyone with a business idea or looking to strengthen an existing business.
The first session, From Idea to Opportunity, takes place Thursday, September 17. In-person and virtual options are both available.
