Whether you rent or own, insurance is one of the best ways to protect yourself and your loved ones in the event of an emergency, like a wildfire.

The Insurance Bureau of Canada can help people who need coverage by assessing their situation and providing options โœ”๏ธ

Most home and tenant insurance policies also cover evacuation-related living expenses, including accommodation โœ”๏ธ

Call your insurance provider or the Insurance Bureau of Canada at 1-844-227-5422 or visit ibc.ca/bc to check your coverage.

On behalf of the Chilliwack Fire Department, we would like to sincerely thank Ideal Auto Wrecking for once again hosting our auto-extrication training over two days of practical instruction.

We are very fortunate to have the opportunity to continue training in your yard, and we truly appreciate your ongoing support and cooperation. This training provides our members with the closest experience possible to real-life emergency conditions while allowing us to operate in a safe and controlled environment.

Opportunities like this are invaluable in helping our firefighters build and maintain the skills necessary to serve our communities effectively and safely.

To the moms serving in the fire service, the moms supporting us from home, and the mothers who helped shape who we are โ€” thank you for your strength, sacrifice, compassion, and unwavering support.
Your impact reaches far beyond what most people ever see.
From all of us at the Chilliwack Fire Department, Happy Motherโ€™s Day. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿš’

Today at 1:55 PM (PT) - Wednesday, May 6, 2026 - the BC Emergency Alert system will be tested.

During todayโ€™s test, the public will hear an alert tone and receive a message on radio, TV and compatible cell phones.

Emergency Alerts are sent to all LTE connected phones and no personal information is collected or stored.

Tip: Cell phones have different user settings like Do Not Disturb, that may affect how an emergency alert is received. Check the settings on your cell phone to ensure you will see and hear emergency alerts.
