With students heading back to class, expect busier roads around schools — especially during morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up.

If you’re behind the wheel, slow down, stay focused and watch for students walking, cycling and crossing the road. Give yourself a little extra time so there’s no need to rush.

A few extra minutes can help make everyone’s trip to school safer.

Chilliwack School District uses a notification system called SchoolMessenger to communicate with families by email and recorded phone messages. Families can also opt-in to receive SMS text messages.

SchoolMessenger's student absence reporting system is called SafeArrival. SafeArrival makes it easy for families to report a child’s absence.
