Good Morning! Today is the day in our literacy calendar to compare prices at your stores. Especially during this time of inflation, high cost of living, and low household incomes it can be difficult to manage all the things that we need to buy. Sometimes there can also be hardship in managing all these little things on our own as well. this "Frugal Foodie" graphic made by Chilliwack Learning Society in conjunction with the Chilliwack Financial Literacy Committee was made with this very issue in mind. Let's hope it contains some tips that can help reduce your grocery bill!

Today we are working on online banking! Coming up this weekend is to listen to live music. But in case that isn't possible, here are a few other options:
- Ask a friend/family member to show you some music they've been working on
- sing your favourite song by yourself or with others
- take a moment to sit and listen to some music you haven't heard before
- ask someone if you can share music you've been working on with them!

And don't forget to wear purple and celebrate literacy day on Friday!

Post pictures to social media of you doing these activities with the hashtag or for your chance to win a $50 Indigo gift card! Full details here: https://decoda.ca/get-involved/literacy-month/

In turn, we are proud to be given the opportunity to increase literacy and education for families in our community! Education, family development, and communication together form the bedrock for all the advancements that have allowed our wonderfully diverse communities to exist and thrive.

We hope to continue to be a part of the story of our community by doing our part to increase the love of learning. Our commitment continues to focus on helping families access classes, workshops and more to enrich and fulfil their needs for home and career-based goals.

📚 Literacy effects so many aspects of our lives at every age and is key in making sure people can access services, education, and jobs to help them thrive in BC.
Proud to be part of a government that is investing $3.4 million annually to support the Community Adult Literacy Program (CALP) to support 102 adult literacy programs in 132 communities, supporting over 16,000 people across B.C.

This is so cool! Anyone with kids who play Minecraft should check it out. Misinformation is a growing problem and we not only need to become more aware of it happening to others, but also more accepting of our own susceptibility to it. A great resource!

CBC Kids News has created a world in Minecraft Education for students across Canada to play.
