In consideration of the Western Irrigation District and their 2024 Irrigation Season, the City of Chestermere, in agreement with Centron and the contractors, has made the decision to delay the installation of the lake utility crossing at Founders Point Park until after the completion of the irrigation season.

The developer's contractor is proceeding with the removal of construction materials and equipment from Founders Point and the City is working with the contractor to determine a more suitable time to have the cross connections installed under the park. Minor work will continue to complete an interim servicing solution to support area development.

Please note that as a result of this, the utility tie-In ongoing at Founder’s Point will be postponed until the completion of this irrigation season so as to not impact the operations of the WID. More details on the confirmed timeline will be released soon, including a landscape plan for the restoration of the park.

Library service is municipally based, and we are looking to the City of Chestermere for further operations funding and a strategy for a new larger library space.

Yesterday, representatives from the City of Chestermere - including Chestermere's Official Administrator - joined staff from Agecare and Hestia Construction as well as Minister Adriana LaGrange and MLA Chantelle de Jonge for Chestermere-Strathmore for the groundbreaking of a new continuing care facility here in Chestermere.
