The Village of Chester invites all interested parties to listen, share and discuss their opinions provided that all comments remain respectful and courteous. The site administrators respond to questions and comments that are consistent with the Village’s social media guidelines within a reasonable timeframe. The Village of Chester reserves the right to remove from its official social media channels any posted online content, comments or links which are deemed unsuitable, inappropriate, or contain any of the following:

• Comments not relevant to the particular posting by the Village’s social media administrator

2026-09-16 Monthly Village Commission Meeting

The Chester Village Commission's Sep 16th Monthly Meeting agenda and agenda package are now available here:

The meeting will be held in-person at 63 Regent Street and over livestream at 6:00 pm. Everyone is welcome.

Items of interest to the public include: Useful information from the Seniors' Safety Program, project updates, and financial updates. The Association of Nova Scotia Villages is holding its Annual Conference & AGM in the Village of Chester on Sep 18-19; please welcome Commissioners and staff from 16 villages across the province!

Let’s Talk Privacy Bags in Region 6 🛍️

Privacy bags are here to help you discreetly dispose of certain personal items .

✔️ What Privacy Bags Are For:
• Bathroom waste (tissues, wipes, hygiene products)
• Medical waste that can go in regular garbage (bandages, dressings, incontinence products)
• Personal garbage items you prefer not to be visible at the curb

❌ What They’re Not For:
• Hiding recyclables or compostables
• Tossing in items just to avoid sorting

Using privacy bags correctly helps keep our recycling system strong, reduces contamination, and keeps valuable materials out of the landfill. ♻️💙

As a reminder, privacy bags may be rejected if not sorted correctly.
