Village of Chase - Municipality

Village of Chase - Municipality Welcome to the Village of Chase page.

The little town of Chase is located on the shores of Little Shuswap Lake in the mountainous eastern region of the South Thompson River Valley, often known as The Gateway to the Shuswap. The Village of Chase is grateful to be located and provide services within Secwepmculecw, the traditional territory of the Secwepemc people.

It is that time of the year we need to be BEAR aware! Bears are now 'fattening up' for their winter snooze, so we will be seeing bears in the area. Please ensure you prevent interactions by removing any fruit that has fallen from fruit trees, keep your BBQ clean, and follow the Village's solid waste rules:
šŸ—‘ļø
• Place carts out between 7am–4pm on collection day
• Remove carts by 7pm and store securely on private property
• Use tie-downs or secure carts to prevent access
Bears have a very good sense of smell, so removing attractants will help keep us and the bears safe!

While we did get some much needed rain recently, we are still in 'drought' conditions until we get a substantial amount of rain. Thank you for your cooperation!

Join us on September 30 for the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

We’ll gather at the Chase Curling Rink at 10:00 a.m. for a reflection walk, followed by ceremony remarks, speakers, a free BBQ lunch, the Artisans Market, and visits to the TsqĆŗqw7e and StelteglxĆŗs landmark sculptures.

Everyone is welcome to come together to reflect on the history and lasting impacts of residential schools, honour Survivors, remember the children who never returned home, and continue the work of truth and reconciliation.

Please see the poster for full event details.

September is a perfect month to step back and look at your property as a whole. While for most of us, much of the summer is spent on routine maintenance including cutting grass and preparing a grab-and-go bag in case of an emergency, fall offers us a chance to take a strategic approach to wildfire preparedness.
Most of us are aware of the devastating wildfires that have occurred in BC this year alone – not to mention previous years, and those wildfires closer to our doorsteps.
Now is a great time to take a good look at your property with ā€˜FireSmart’ eyes – every little bit of fuel removal and trimming helps! Contact [email protected] for a free FireSmart assessment!
