Mental health awareness and resiliency is a priority for our officers and civilian staff. Mental wellness helps strengthen not only our emergency services, but the entire community we serve.

We are thrilled that next week, from June 2 to 3, more than 400 delegates, along with keynote speaker Dr. Hayley Wickenheiser, will be coming together right here in Charlottetown for the 2026 First Responders Mental Health Conference. The conference brings together first responders and related partners from across the region to learn, connect and support one another. Participants will engage in important conversations, training and research-focused learning surrounding mental health and wellness.

Thank you to the organizers, speakers and delegates for helping create a healthy and supportive environment for our first responders.

We look forward to welcoming you to City of Charlottetown, PE!

A small but meaningful first, with an engine’s back seat at Station 2 filled entirely with female firefighters.

It’s a reflection of how the service continues to grow and evolve.

A big welcome to some of the newest volunteer recruits with the Charlottetown Fire Department who completed required training drills alongside current members last night.

These hands-on exercises are an important part of preparing recruits for the teamwork, skill, and quick response required on the job. Thank you to all members who helped support and mentor our newest volunteers. 🚒

Mayor Brown joined Charlottetown Police, Fire, Island EMS, and private first‑responder partners at Canadian Tire on Saturday to launch Safety and Health Week 2026. This week serves as an important opportunity for all of us to reflect on how we can prevent workplace injury and illness.

Together, we can create safe workplaces and strengthen safety throughout our community.
