❤️ It's time to meet another amazing Island tourism operator.

Meet Leslie Blake from Ocean Acres Cottages & Campground in Murray Harbour, offering camping and cottages along the Fox River and home to The Deck Restaurant. This is a special place where rural tourism, community, and year-round hospitality really come together.

For Lesley, tourism is more than a business. It’s a dream job and an opportunity to welcome people to her part of PEI while contributing to the community around her.

And the work doesn’t stop when summer ends. In winter, Ocean Acres welcomes snowmobilers, skating families, and guests travelling for sporting tournaments, helping bring visitors and spending into rural PEI at a time of year when that business really matters.

That’s the opportunity in growing year-round tourism. More visitors throughout the year means more support for local businesses, more jobs, and stronger rural communities.

Lesley is also a great example of the community mindset we see from so many of our tourism operators. When the community succeeds, tourism succeeds, and when tourism succeeds, the benefits reach far beyond the visitor.

That’s how tourism works for PEI.

Through collaboration, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island come together to showcase the experiences that make each destination distinctive while building awareness of Atlantic Canada as a world-class travel destination in key international markets.

🚢 Today, we're celebrating cruise tourism on PEI.

Based on CLIA's 2024 Economic Study, 153,000 cruise visitors came to PEI, spending $32 million directly in our economy, supporting 280 jobs and helping generate $49 million in total economic output.

That spending reaches restaurants, retailers, tour operators, attractions, and communities across the Island.

And congratulations to Port Charlottetown on two big wins. PEI has been nominated for North America's Best Cruise Destination in the 2026 World Cruise Awards, and after almost 10 years, Disney Cruise Line is returning to PEI in 2027.

Pretty exciting momentum for Canada's smallest province.

That's how tourism works for PEI.
