What an absolutely unforgettable day! 🎈✨
Yesterday, we hosted our 2nd Annual Community Access & Inclusion Expo at Credit Union Place, and we are still buzzing from the incredible energy in the room. Thanks to all of you, we had a record-breaking turnout with 35 amazing vendor organizations filling the floor! To every single vendor who came out, brought your passion, and set up a booth, thank you for making this event what it was.
A massive thank you to our wonderful partners who helped make this day a flawless success: The City of Summerside , and Credit Union Place, for the incredible hospitality and coordination.
We were so honored to have Minister Barb Ramsay join us to share opening remarks, and a huge thank you to the team at MyPEI/MyHealthPEI for speaking and sharing their vital digital updates with our community.
We also want to give a heartfelt shout-out to our brilliant ASL Interpreters from the Society of Deaf & Hard of Hearing Nova Scotians. Your incredible work ensured our presentations and launch were fully accessible to everyone in the room, and we are so grateful for your support!
Yesterday also marked a massive milestone for us: the official provincial launch of ConnectABILITY PEI! 💻
What is ConnectABILITY? It’s a brand-new, completely free, highly accessible online directory designed to bridge the gap between Islanders and the vital community supports they need. Instead of guessing keywords, users are guided by a simple homepage questionnaire to find the exact right services in their region.
Where do we go from here? This platform is only as powerful as the network behind it. Once our local community groups, non-profits, and service providers join, it will become the ultimate living map of inclusion for PEI, making cross-referrals seamless for frontline staff and life-changing for families.
Calling all PEI Service Providers! 📢
If you couldn't make it yesterday, the door is wide open. Head over to connectabilitypei.ca to check out how it works and get your organization on the map today!
Thank you again to everyone who came out, stamped passports, added a brushstroke to our community canvas, and helped us kick off National AccessAbility Week with such a bang. Together, we are building a truly barrier-free PEI! 🤝❤️
