Update: September 8, 2026, The precautionary “do not drink” on the water system has been lifted.

Update: September 7, 2026, The suspect blue-green algae has dissipated and swimming at the day use beach has re-opened. The precautionary water system “do not drink” advisory remains in effect.

Attention Campers:
Effective September 6, 2026, the day use area beach at Wakami Lake Provincial Park is closed to swimming on Wakami Lake due to suspect blue-green algae. When beach water quality improves the closure will be lifted. Staff are placing signage where blooms are visible.

As a result, the park water system has also been posted on a precautionary “do not drink” advisory.
