Vulcan County has lifted the Fire Restriction and is moving to a Fire Advisory. Vulcan County has received sufficient moisture to support this change. However, we continue to monitor conditions closely and may update the fire status at any time

Fire permits are currently being issued, but may be cancelled at any time with little to no notice if conditions change. If a Fire Ban or Restriction is imposed, you must immediately and fully extinguish your fire.

Fire Permits will be reviewed Monday–Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. Permits requested on weekends or holidays will not be reviewed until the next business day.

Vulcan County has moved to a Fire Restriction - effective May 4th.

Due to dry, windy, and warm conditions, there is a very high risk of fire spread in cured (dead and dry) grass across the County. This restriction may be escalated to a full Fire Ban with little or no notice.

🚒 VCES crews were busy in Q1. From January to March, responders across the county answered:
• 23 fires/alarms
• 62 medical calls
• 3 motor vehicle collisions
• 1 downed power line call

That’s 89 calls in the first three months of the year.

Crews are moving fast too, with an average dispatch-to-enroute time of just 4 minutes and 42 seconds, and an average travel time to scene of 11 minutes and 16 seconds.

And for anyone wondering which day keeps crews busiest, it’s Wednesday.

Huge thank you to all of our members for everything they do to serve communities across the county.
