Farm equipment may be large, slow-moving and travelling between fields, farmyards, and roadways. Give operators the space and time they need and keep these safety tips in mind:

⚠️ Farm machinery may travel much slower than regular traffic, so slow down and keep your distance.
❌ Never make a hasty passing decision because you’re frustrated or in a hurry.
⚠️ Larger equipment may need extra room and can move toward the centre of the road before turning.
✅ Take extra care at intersections, hills and other areas where visibility may be obstructed.

With kids returning to school, the Alberta RCMP are reminding everyone about crosswalk safety.
Whether you are a parent, student or motorist remember to always stay alert when approaching a crosswalk.

👀 If you are using a crosswalk, make sure that the driver sees you before you step out. Just because a car slows down, doesn’t mean that they see you. Make sure a car comes to a complete stop before you step out onto the crosswalk.

⚠️ As a driver, always slow down when a approaching a crosswalk. Young children can dart out without looking, so make sure to be aware and not be distracted when driving.

⚠️ Stop signs. Yield signs. Speed limits. Construction zones. Road closures. They aren’t suggestions- they’re there to help keep everyone on the road safe.

✅ Taking a few extra seconds to slow down, stop, look, and follow posted signs can make all the difference. Whether you’re driving or cycling, pay attention and follow the signs. Your destination can wait. Getting there safely is what matters.

Back-to-school season is here, and that means more school buses on the road and more children walking to and from bus stops. Let’s all do our part to keep kids safe.

✅ Slow down in school zones and residential areas, especially mornings and afternoons.
✅ Always stop for school buses with flashing red lights and extended stop arms – it’s the law.
✅ Watch carefully for children crossing the street or waiting at bus stops.
✅ Avoid driving while distracted. Stay alert when you’re behind the wheel.
