Road Closure Notice

Please be advised that Centre Street will be closed starting Monday, June 15 at 7:00 AM until Sunday, June 22 at 7:00 PM to complete scheduled road improvements.

Work includes:
• Removal and replacement of the existing swale crossing on Centre Street
• Installation of handicap ramps on both the north and south sides of Centre Street

During this time, Centre Street traffic will be detoured south through Osler Street, with 9th Avenue and Highway 2A serving as connectors.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation while this work is completed. Please use caution in the area and follow all detour signage.

Please note: scheduled work is dependent on weather conditions and may be subject to change.

June 11, 2026 - For Immediate Release
Town of Carstairs and NeoForm Developments Announce New Transformative Seniors Housing and Mixed-Use Campus

The Town of Carstairs is pleased to announce today a landmark agreement in principle with NeoForm Developments to construct a state-of-the-art, multi-phase seniors housing and mixed-use campus. This partnership marks a significant investment in the community, addressing the community’s need for housing options, specialized seniors' care, and enhanced local services.

“This project is a significant milestone for our community,” says Mayor Dean Allan. “Our housing needs assessments have clearly identified the need for more diverse housing, particularly for our seniors who wish to age in place in our community. This development will provide much-needed specialized care facilities, which have previously been unavailable in Carstairs, and also create a vibrant, integrated campus that provides housing and benefits to residents of all ages.”

The planned development, located on a site Council strategically designated for this use in the Mandalay Estates subdivision on the east side of Carstairs, represents an immediate initial investment of over $15 million into the local economy, with total project investment expected to exceed $60 million upon full build-out.

Planning on parking your RV on the roadway near your property this season? Here’s a quick reminder about roadway parking regulations in Carstairs:
A recreational vehicle (RV) is a vehicle or trailer designed to provide temporary living accommodations for travel, vacation, or recreational use, and may be driven, towed, or transported.
- RV parking on the roadway is permitted for up to 72 hours.
- Unattached trailers cannot be parked on the roadway unless a permit has been issued by Emergency Services.

Seniors' Week: June 1 - 7, 2026

As Seniors' Week comes to a close, the Town of Carstairs, Carstairs FCSS, and Mountain View County would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the seniors in our community.

Throughout the week, we celebrated the many ways seniors enrich our community through their wisdom, experience, volunteerism, and ongoing contributions. We were delighted to see so many people come together to enjoy the activities, connect with friends, and celebrate all that our seniors do.

A special thank you to everyone who attended events, volunteered their time, supported activities, and helped make this year's Seniors' Week a tremendous success. Your enthusiasm and participation made the week truly memorable.

Thank you to our seniors for helping make our community such a wonderful place to live. We are proud to celebrate you not just during Seniors' Week, but all year long.
