Carman & Community Chamber of Commerce The Carman and Community Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit organization, incorporated on July 10, 1969. Membership fees are utilized towards operation

Our membership comprises of over 120 businesses and organizations in Carman and the surrounding area. OUR OBJECTIVES:

to promote through its members, the progress and development of Carman and surrounding area, in order to make them better places in which we live, work, and play,

to unite the local chamber members in order to pursue matters of common interest,

to increase the efficiency of chamber members and to promote mutual cooperation between the Manitoba Chamber of Commerce and ourselves,

to promote the agricultural, civic, commercial, industrial, and other general interests of the Carman region,

to develop and present informed views and opinions, on behalf of chamber members to any and all appropriate situations,

to maintain and extend a vigorous and integrated chamber of commerce movement. In an evolving society, we strive to service our membership.

The planning is done, the pirates are ready, and tomorrow we take over Ryall Park, downtown Carman and the Boyne River for a full day of World Rivers Day fun!

Here’s your final rundown for Saturday, September 12:

- River Poker Derby – Registration opens at 11 AM | Complete by 3 PM | $10/hand
- Landlubbers’ Poker Derby – 12–3 PM | $10/hand
- Wheels Car Show – 12–4 PM
- FREE Kids Treasure Hunt – 12–3 PM
- Young Makers & Community Market – 12–3 PM
- Face Painting – 12–2 PM

WORLD RIVERS DAY — RIVER POKER DERBY!

Ready to take your World Rivers Day adventure onto the Boyne River? Grab your kayak or canoe and take part in the River Poker Derby this Saturday, September 12!

Registration opens at 11:00 AM, but there’s NO RUSH to get on the river!
Paddlers will have until 3:00 PM to complete the derby, so come down when it works for you, enjoy the paddle and make your way through the poker stops at your own pace.

And there are some pretty great prizes up for grabs!

🏴‍☠️ LANDLUBBERS’ POKER DERBY — ARE YE FEELING LUCKY? 🃏

Prefer to keep yer feet on dry land? Then the World Rivers Day Landlubbers’ Poker Derby is the adventure for you!

On Saturday, September 12, grab your crew and head to the Carman & Community Chamber of Commerce tent at Ryall Park to register.
From there, you’ll receive your Poker Record, rules and a treasure map that will send you off to visit participating businesses around Carman.

But we’re not revealing the stops just yet… you’ll have to wait until Derby Day to get yer hands on the map!

At each stop, you’ll complete a fun challenge before drawing a card. Your card will be recorded on your Poker Record, then it’s off to the next destination. Complete all the stops, build your poker hand and return your record to the Chamber tent.

- $10 per hand
- Register at the Chamber Tent – NE corner of Ryall Park
- Follow the treasure map to all the secret stops
- Complete a challenge at each location
- Collect your poker hand along the way
- 12:00–3:00 PM

And there’s some mighty fine treasure on the line…

The best poker hand wins a basket packed with goodies from ALL of our participating local merchants — valued at OVER $350!

This is a great chance to have some fun, discover local businesses and maybe sail home with a pretty impressive haul of treasure!

Once the prizes have been handed out at Ryall Park, don’t be sailing home just yet! Gather yer crew and make your way to the Pirate Pub at the Carman Legion for an evening of food, drinks and live music!

Cucina Filipinas Rice & Noodles will pull up anchor at Ryall Park and move their food truck over to the Carman Legion parking lot, reopening at 5:00 PM. Come hungry and grab some delicious Filipino favourites before the music gets underway.

🎶 Then at 6:30 PM, Travis Barré, a Winnipeg-based musician and singer-songwriter, takes over with live music continuing throughout the evening!

So after a full day of World Rivers Day adventures…

COME HUNGRY TO WORLD RIVERS DAY! 🏴‍☠️

We’ve got lots happening at Ryall Park this Saturday, September 12, and you won’t have to leave the festivities when it’s time to grab something to eat!

The Carman Handi-van will be firing up the BBQ as a fundraiser in support of their NEW HANDI VAN.
For $10, enjoy a hamburger or smokie, chips and a drink.
It’s cash only, and additional donations are gratefully accepted. A great lunch AND a great way to support an important service in our community!

We’re also excited to welcome Cucina Filipinas rice & noodles, a small-scale, family-owned Filipino restaurant bringing some delicious Filipino flavors to Ryall Park!
Their menu features a great selection including silog meals, pancit noodles, pork skewers, spring rolls, sizzling pork sisig and Filipino desserts.

If you haven’t had a chance to try their food before, World Rivers Day is a perfect opportunity!

WORLD RIVERS DAY COUNTDOWN — 8 DAYS TO GO! 🏴‍☠️

World Rivers Day isn’t just about the activities — it’s also a great chance to get out, explore downtown Carman and support some of the people doing great things in our community!

Our Young Makers & Community Market will be set up from 12:00–3:00 PM on Saturday, September 12, with young local entrepreneurs community groups lining the sidewalk along 1st Avenue SW.

Take some time to wander through the booths, see what our local makers have been creating, learn more about the organizations working in our community, and maybe discover something new!
