⚠️ River Safety Reminder & Emergency Alerts Information ⚠️

Alberta Environment has advised that the St. Mary River is currently running at a high level and is quite full. While the river is not flooding and has not overtaken its banks, residents and visitors are encouraged to exercise caution when near the water.

Fast-moving currents, unstable banks, and cold water conditions can create hazardous situations, especially for children, pets, and recreational users. Please stay alert and use extra care around the river and surrounding areas.

🚧 Strychnine Program Update for Residents 🚧

We would like to provide an update on the upcoming strychnine program:

β€’ Emergency use approval has been granted.
β€’ Product availability is expected in approximately 6–8 weeks.
β€’ Use will be restricted to a reduced, provincially approved geographic area (see map below), as well as specific times of year.
β€’ In-person training will be required for all end users. Please note that a Farmer Pesticide Certificate will not be sufficient for this program.
β€’ Beginning in the 2027 season, training will transition to an online format.
β€’ Product audits will be conducted to ensure compliance with all program requirements.

We are continuing to work through additional details and will share more information as it becomes available.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
