Nourish & Develop

Nourish & Develop The Nourish and Develop Foundation is a charitable non-profit organization, located in Cannington, Ontario. Established in 2000.

We are an organization where people can receive more than just access to food and services. Over the past few years, TNDF has grown in more ways than one. We have added to our dedicated team of staff, recruited and trained new volunteers, increased and improved community programs, and researched and implicated new strategies to strengthen our community. Today, we support families and individuals t

hrough our Food Pantry and service hundreds more through our community programming. Providing access to good food is just the beginning of our work. We believe that improving lives and building stronger communities is the result of working together with a sense of purpose. Our programs are developed to improve self-reliance and include projects that strengthen the community.

Children's clothing often has a short closet life...especially when it isn't worn again for a year.

Warm Tootsies is a free community clothing recycling program that helps children and youth get warm winter gear while giving gently used items a second life.

By donating coats, snow pants, boots, hats, mittens, and other winter essentials, you're helping ensure every child in Brock Township can head into the colder months feeling warm, comfortable, and ready for whatever winter brings.

Families are invited to attend one of our distribution days to browse available items and take what they need. Clean, outgrown winter clothing can also be brought to exchange for larger sizes.

September is Hunger Action Month... and we're turning up the heat at TNDF 🔥

Introducing our first-ever TNDF Hot Pepper Challenge! 🌶️

Five brave local community champions have agreed to put their taste buds on the line to help raise money for food purchasing at TNDF.

The rules are simple: throughout September, donate in support of your favourite competitor to help save them from the hot pepper. At midnight on September 29, fundraising will close, and the competitor who has raised the least will face a fiery fate at our Community BBQ on October 1, courtesy of our friends at Ark Pepper Co.

And don't worry, if you can't make it in person, we'll be livestreaming the pepper-eating showdown.

While the challenge is all in good fun, the reason behind it is very real. More individuals and families are turning to food support programs, and the demand for food assistance continues to grow. Every donation helps TNDF purchase food and ensure our neighbours have access to the support they need.

So, who are you saving?

We’re so excited to officially introduce…Community Market! 🎉

Beginning today, we're embracing a new name that reflects what our Mobile Food Market program has grown to become.

Community Market is more than a market.

It's a place to access fresh, affordable food. A place to connect with neighbours. A place to learn, share, and discover other supports and opportunities in our community.

As Community Market, we'll be operating from three permanent weekly locations in Brock Township, creating more opportunities for food education, community connection, and meaningful engagement. This new model will also allow us to better integrate other TNDF programs and services into the market experience—bringing more of our work directly into the communities we serve.

These changes were not made lightly. As we reflected on the future of the program, it became clear that the Mobile Food Market model needed to evolve to remain sustainable and continue growing its impact. By focusing our efforts, we'll be able to strengthen the program, deepen community relationships, and ensure Community Market can remain a reliable source of fresh, affordable food.

Thank you to everyone who has shopped, volunteered, donated, partnered with us, or simply stopped by to say hello over the years. You've helped shape this program into what it is today.

📍 Tuesdays | 16 York Street, Cannington

A Summer to Remember 🌸🌼

This summer, our campers planted seeds, harvested vegetables, created handmade products, built friendships, learned new skills, and found out just how much they're capable of.

There were countless moments of:
✨ "Look what I made!" ✨ "Can I help?" ✨ "Let's make another one!" ✨ "Mine sold already!" ✨

There were muddy hands, creative ideas, market-day nerves, proud smiles, and so many reasons to celebrate.

Together, our Market Sprouts, Market Makers, and Market Pros raised more than $3,000 for Nourish House Food Bank through their kid-run farmers' markets. But the numbers only tell part of the story.

The real success was watching these young community members grow confidence, come together to support one another, and learn that food has a story, and that they can be part of writing a better one ✨

To every camper, parent, and customer who made this summer possible: thank you. 🌻

Here's to a summer full of growing, making, and sharing, and memories we'll be talking about for a long time.

See you next year, Sprouts

Thank you, Alicia 💛

As Alicia prepares to head back to school, we want to take a moment to thank her for two incredible years at TNDF ✨

What began as a CSJ placement grew into so much more. From Food Services Assistant to Food Bank Coordinator, Alicia embraced every opportunity with confidence, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to the people we serve. Whether she was supporting clients, coordinating volunteers, or stepping in wherever help was needed, she brought warmth, professionalism, and genuine care to everything she did.

Alicia has been an incredibly valuable part of our team, and it has been a privilege to watch her grow and thrive at TNDF. While we'll miss her, we're excited for this next chapter and wish her every success as she returns to school.

Thank you, Alicia, for everything you've brought to our community. We're cheering you on every step of the way! 🌱
