Are you passionate about community wellness and supporting volunteerism, particularly for older adults? The deadlines for two Health Services postings are approaching!

The Resort Village of Candle Lake, in partnership with the Candle Lake Health Services Committee, is seeking Expressions of Interest for two separate positions: Program Developer and a Program Volunteer Coordinator. Both of these positions are supporting our new Volunteers Supporting Aging in Place Initiative! 🏡✨

This innovative project is designed to help older adults and vulnerable residents stay independent, connected, and supported right here in our community through volunteer-driven services (like transportation assistance, social connections, non-medical supports and service navigation).

• The Program Developer will build the "backbone" of the Volunteer Program creating the safety infrastructure, risk mitigation policies, and operational systems needed to run a professional volunteer network. Applications close June 15th.

• The Program Volunteer Coordinator will put it all into action. This position will be implementing the systems, recruiting and training our volunteers, and matching them with residents to provide essential support like medical transportation, wellness checks, and caregiver respite. Applications close June 30th.

🇨🇦 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR CANADA DAY AT CANDLE LAKE! 🇨🇦

Help us make Canada Day 2026 an unforgettable celebration for our community!

The festivities kick off with our annual Canada Day Parade and continue with lunch, family fun, and children's activities at the Community Hall beginning at 12:00 PM.

We're currently looking for volunteers for the following roles:

🧁 7 Cupcake Makers

Provide 2 dozen cupcakes
Decorate in red and/or white Canada Day colours
Deliver to the Community Hall on June 30 at 2:00 PM

🍔 1 BBQ Volunteers

Help cook and serve burgers during the community lunch
A great opportunity to be part of the celebrations and connect with residents and visitors

🎉 6 Children's Activity Supervisors

Help supervise family-friendly activities beginning at noon
Please note: Highway 265 will be closed during the parade. Volunteers are asked to park and watch the parade near the Community Hall to ensure they are available for programming at noon.

Volunteering is a wonderful way to give back, meet new people, and be part of one of Candle Lake's favourite summer traditions!
