Tree clippings and other yard waste have recently been left at the compost/mulch pile that the City has provided as a complimentary service for residents.

Please remember that this area is intended for mulch distribution and is not an approved location for yard waste disposal.

When yard waste is left behind, it contaminates the pile and requires additional cleanup resources.

Please dispose of yard waste through the appropriate facilities. If you have extra organic waste, you can take it to the organics area of the landfill for a fee. Extra organics carts are available to rent for $6.30 per month with an additional $50.00 handling fee. You can call the Engineering Department at 780.672.4428 for more details.

Please do not dump any unwanted yard waste in the compost bunkers or mulch pile. Thank you for your cooperation.

Changes to the Camrose Community Bus Route

Council has approved a couple updates to the Camrose Community Bus route to enhance access.

Two new On Demand community bus stops on Mount Pleasant Drive near Marler Drive and on 73 Street near 44A Avenue Close have been added.

Administration worked with the bus operator to find new locations that could better serve residents without changing the bus route. Pickup times will be adjusted to reflect the updated schedule, but the entire loop will remain one hour long in total.

You can download your own bus schedule by visiting www.camrose.ca/transit

Today, September 13, 2026, is designated as Firefighters’ National Memorial Day. To honour the brave firefighters across Canada, we have lowered our flags in tribute to those who have been injured or lost their lives in the line of duty, while also celebrating their courage and dedication to serving their communities.

Crime Severity Index results...

Message from Chief Corbett

The 2025 Crime Severity Index results reflect the following:
• Violent Crime severity remains below the Alberta average
• Crime severity has declined for two consecutive years
• More reported crimes in Camrose are being solved than the provincial average, helping provide accountability for offenders and answers for victims.

These results reflect the partnership between our officers and the people we serve, and something we have always known, Camrose is a safe, caring and resilient community.

Thank you to our residents, businesses and community partners for helping make Camrose a safe place to live, work and raise a family

No bananas required! With their yellow gear and the pool drained, our crew is giving some serious Minion vibes during our annual shutdown.

Behind the fun is some important work: the gutters and basin drains are being thoroughly scrubbed and treated with salt acid baths to prepare the surfaces for fresh grout. It's all part of the maintenance that keeps the pool clean, safe, and ready for your next visit!

The countdown is on for September 28 when the pool reopens for business!

Council has approved the Urban Design Framework, a new guide that will help shape how downtown Camrose grows and changes in the future.

Building on the Downtown Area Redevelopment Plan (DARP) adopted in 2019, the Framework provides a clear vision, goals, and design principles to guide how new development, renovations, and public spaces take shape in the heart of our community.

The Framework was informed by community feedback gathered through surveys, workshops, and stakeholder engagement, helping create a shared vision for a vibrant, attractive, and connected downtown.

Thank you to everyone who participated and shared their ideas throughout the process.

Learn more about the project and view the Framework at www.ourcamrose.ca/darp-udf.
