Minegoziibe Anishinabe

Minegoziibe Anishinabe Pine Creek First Nation made their home along the southwestern shore of Lake Winnipegosis, approximately 110 kilometers north of present Dauphin, Manitoba.

A plentiful supply of freshwater fish, waterfowl and wild game guaranteed their survival.

Our story deserves to be heard.

I invite all Minegoziibe Anishinabe — whether you’re at home or living away — to take a few minutes to watch this important speech from our Chief. It speaks to where we are today as a Nation, the historic steps being taken around revenue sharing, and the responsibility we carry to protect our moose, our lands, and our future generations.

This isn’t just about policy or economics. It’s about who we are. It’s about our ancestors, our young people, and the spiritual foundation that guides our decisions. It’s about standing up for the health of the land so our children and grandchildren can continue to live our way of life.

Please watch, reflect, and share with family. These conversations matter. Our future depends on them.

Miigwech.
