Calling all Teen Dungeons & Dragons players! The Campbell River Library is back with more D&D awesomeness. Embark on action-packed adventures with the help of our experienced dungeon masters, Renée and Graham. Perfect for teens new and experienced with the world of Dungeons & Dragons.

To get involved: sign up in person, call us, or send an email to [email protected] with the player's age, name, contact info, and which game they’d like to sign up for.

🍂🪾🍁 September Family Movie Matinee: WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE 🍁🪾🍂

Help us kick off our Monsters & Mysteries theme this Fall with this lovely film, based on Maurice Sendak’s award-winning picture book. This is a great opportunity to introduce little ones to a "theater" environment :)

Bring your friends, or make some new ones! Quiet activities (like colouring) are welcome. Bring your own snacks!

Join us on Wednesday September 16, 4:00-5:00pm for our first Teen Advisory Group (TAG) meeting!

TAG is a volunteer opportunity at the Vancouver Island Regional Library (VIRL) for teens (ages 12-18) to have a say in what happens at the library.

As a TAG member, you will:
~Attend monthly meetings
~Help plan and host library programs and events
~Give your opinions and feedback on library services and collections
~Participate in special projects
~Build experience and leadership skills, references for job hunting, and/or scholarship applications
~Have lots of fun!

✨⛵️📖This Thursday at 3:30pm!

Author, artist and mariner Yvonne Maximchuk reads at the Campbell River Library, Thurs. Sep 3, 3:30 pm; from her debut mystery novel, "Murder Rides a Gale Force Wind" and shares a sneak peek from her work-in-progress, "An Intertidal Life" - an adventuresome memoir of how running away to sea with her 'holiday man' diverted the trajectory of her life as urban artist and single mom.

We have a number of interesting offerings this month, including several author readings, film screenings, and the return of our regular Family Storytime. As always, these events are FREE of charge, all are welcome!

🌊🐙✨That's a wrap on Summer Reading Club 2026!✨🐙🌊

What an underwater blast we've had! Thank you to all our participants, readers, caregivers, and staff for making this such a fun Summer full of ocean-themed activities! It's been wonderful seeing so many kiddos excited to visit the library.

We'd like to say a special thanks to Discovery Passage Aquarium, Anita Murdoch (Nettles & Namaste), children's author Roz MacLean, and our pals from the Campbell River Museum (pictured in our photo booth below) for sharing their time and talents with us.

Keep an eye out for our calendars this Fall, we will have many cool (and free!) activities lined up for when the weather cools off.
