Saturday was an exceptional day at the Museum as we welcomed more than 240 visitors along with our new mascot, this five-foot tall goose. It was masterfully painted by our very talented volunteer Marley who took time off work to get the job done in order to have it ready for us on Sept. 5. Our next challenge is to find a fitting name for our new feathered friend. A naming contest about to begin.

Doors Open Waterloo Region - Doors Open Waterloo Region returns to the Fire Hall Museum & Education Centre in 2026 on Saturday, September 19 from 10 am to 4 pm. It's a day of discovery at the Fire Hall Museum, as well as at the 26 other local destinations throughout the region - noteworthy buildings, interesting places and heritage sites. Catastrophe & Courage – Disasters and first response in Cambridge - On exhibit through December 5, 2026

The Fire Hall Museum shares photographs of disasters and tragedies that have impacted the community throughout the city’s history. On exhibit in the Museum’s outdoor courtyard on Saturdays from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. Admission is Free!

There was quite the racket around Cambridge Civic Square and the Museum Thursday as the City of Cambridge staged Racquet in the Square! The day-long event transformed Civic Square into a vibrant hub of sport, recreation and community connection, showcasing a variety of racquet sports. Visitors of all ages had the opportunity to try sports like squash, pickleball, badminton, ping pong, and tennis. Over the course of the day the Museum welcomed more than 180 visitors Museum Chair Rob and Beeper, the Cambridge Fire Department fire safety mascot tried their hands at table tennis with Beeper coming out on top. “Beeper’s got a mean swing,” admitted Rob after their game.
