❤️ A Farewell Fiesta for Karen ❤️

Our community came together in a big way to celebrate Karen last Friday, with more than 130 people in attendance and 121 guests enjoying taco salad together around the table. We are incredibly grateful for Karen’s work, leadership and dedication throughout her two and a half years with Kinbridge and The Cambridge Neighbourhood Table. Her care for our guests, volunteers, partners and community has made a lasting impact, and she will be deeply missed.

A special thank you to MacLellan Integrated Services, Inc., who joined us to cook with Karen one last time and presented Kinbridge with another incredibly generous contribution to support our community. Their continued generosity and hands-on support mean so much to us.

We wish Karen all the very best in this next chapter and look forward to welcoming her back for more shared meals around the table, this time as our guest.

For our last week of camp, Waterloo Regional Police Service Youth in Policing hosted a fun fair at our Kinbridge main location. It was awesome! 🚨

Last Tuesday we had the pleasure of celebrating our 10th cohort of YouthForce graduates at the Region of Waterloo Administration Headquarters. Thank you to everyone who joined us in recognizing the hard work of our YouthForce teams this summer, including Chair Redman and local MPs.

Through a combined 7,200 work hours over the summer, our 32 YouthForce employees completed 2,885 Waterloo Region Housing unit inspections, laid 82 yards of mulch in community garden spaces, supported 33 community engagement events, and more. Way to go, YouthForce!

We extend our thanks to Waterloo Region Housing, Canada Summer Jobs, and the Astley Family Foundation for their ongoing support of this incredible work. Here's to another 10 years of YouthForce!
