Exercise can play a meaningful role in reducing reoffending and supporting community safety.
At Bedford House, our men’s Community Residential Facility, the focus is on stability and reducing the likelihood that individuals return to the justice system after incarceration. Access to consistent, positive activities helps support this work.
Thanks to the generosity of Bells of Steel, Bedford House now has on‑site gym equipment available for residents. Exercise supports mental health, recovery, and routine — all of which are linked to lower rates of reoffending.
Having fitness equipment within the facility also removes common barriers that many residents face, including the cost of gym memberships, transportation challenges, and discomfort accessing community spaces early in reintegration.
"At Bells of Steel, we’re driven by a simple belief: strength-both mental and physical-should be accessible for all. We’re honored to support Bedford House in their mission to create safer, stronger communities by providing residents with on-site gym equipment. We hope this helps everyone at Bedford House build healthy habits, resilience, and confidence as they work toward long-term success."
By supporting programs that strengthen daily structure and accountability, partners like Bells of Steel contribute to safer communities and more successful transitions back into the community.
