For general inquiries please call 403-253-2059. The Calgary Food Bank is the first line of emergency food support for families and individuals facing crisis. Once the food emergency is addressed, we refer food bank clients to our proven partner agencies and programs. Our deep collaboration and food support to hundreds of other charitable organizations that address the root causes of food insecurit

We are the city’s main charitable food hub and the most accessible food bank in Calgary serving families, individuals and organizations. We are not a government or United Way agency. We are lucky to be supported by so many incredible community groups, including the Lakeview 85th Scout Group! Recently their Beaver Scouts came together to do a community improvement project in order to earn their North Star Badge, and the Calgary Food Bank was the lucky benefactor. Their final year Beaver Scouts built this Beaver entirely out of cans, raising money to fund the project and donating the leftover $50 to our cause. We are incredibly grateful, well done scouts!

CALLING ALL LISTENING EARS!

Our call center volunteers are the first people our clients interact with when booking an Emergency Food Hamper from the Calgary Food Bank. This is a role that requires patience, compassion and a willingness to help—if that sounds like you we would love to work with you!

Because of the training that goes into preparing a volunteer for their call center role, we ask that folks make a weekly commitment.

These are the shifts we have available.
Monday – Friday:
8:00 am – 11:00 am
11:00 am– 2:00 pm
2:00 pm – 5:00 pm
5:30 pm – 7:30 pm (Mon–Thurs only)

Volunteers must be over 18. Training will be provided.
