One of the most significant things parents in the first Relationships with Your Autistic Adult Child group recall was the realization that they weren't alone.

As children move towards adulthood, the parent-child relationship changes. They require different boundaries, letting go, parents get to "consult", but are no longer "managing." And that transition can feel terrifying for some parents, isolating for others.

This six-session group, hosted together with Carya provides parents, caregivers, and guardians a safe space to talk through those changes, explore communication and boundaries, and connect with others who may be navigating a similar path.

đź“… 6 Wednesdays, starting Wednesday, October 21 (no session Nov. 11)
⏰ 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
📍 Carya's Village Commons (201, 610 8 Ave SE)

There are still a few spaces available for parents who are looking for community and support as you navigate this transition. “It’s not just us.”

That was one of the things parents realized in the first Relationships with Your Autistic Adult Child group, and one of the things that made the experience feel a little lighter.

Relationships can change as children move further into adulthood. This six-session group gives parents, caregivers, and guardians space to talk through those changes, explore communication and boundaries, and connect with others who may be navigating something similar.

Together with The Sinneave Family Foundation we’re offering the next group beginning October 21.

With the first session just one week away, there’s still time to learn more and see whether the group feels like a good fit for you.

📅 Wednesdays, October 21–December 2 (no session November 11)
⏰ 6:00–8:00 p.m.
📍 Carya’s Village Commons | 201, 610 8 Ave SE

Today at Bowmont Commons, we were honoured to unveil a new bench dedicated to the Bowness Seniors Assistance Association (BSAA) in recognition of their generous support of Carya and their longstanding commitment to older adults in the Bowness community.

For many years, BSAA supported Carya’s work and shared our belief in the importance of creating a community where older adults can feel connected, supported and valued.

While BSAA may no longer be operating, their legacy of care continues. We’re grateful to have this bench at Bowmont Commons as a lasting recognition of their generosity and the difference they made in our community.

To everyone who was part of BSAA over the years, thank you for the impact you made and the legacy you leave behind. đź’ś
