🌿 Calgary’s parks are receiving international recognition once again.

Reader Rock Garden and Confederation Park have both received the Green Flag Award for a second consecutive year.

The international designation recognizes excellence in the management, maintenance and visitor experience of parks and green spaces.

The two Calgary parks successfully retained their Green Flag status following a rigorous evaluation process.

Reader Rock Garden, located in Erlton, was first created in 1913 and is designated as both a provincial and national historic resource.

Confederation Park was created in 1967 to mark Canada’s centennial and covers more than 160 hectares.

The Green Flag Award has recognized more than 2,000 parks and green spaces across more than 15 countries since it began in 1996.

Calgary’s Reader Rock Garden and Confederation Park were the first parks in Canada to receive the Green Flag Award.
