There is still time to fill out the 2026 Census.

The census is a valuable tool that provides a detailed statistical portrait of Canada and its people by their demographic, social and economic characteristics. It allows us to better understand who we are as Canadians and what programs and services we need to support our communities.

How do you, your family and your community benefit from the data collected through the census?

Here are just some of the ways:
Local businesses can use demographic information from the census to identify new market trends and needs. Age, education, and employment data can also help identify the need for job creation and new postsecondary programs in targeted areas, such as training in the trades.
Community health care and social services organizations, as well as not-for-profit groups can use population, housing and income distribution data drilled down by neighbourhood to help identify gaps, and plan and address needs identified by their communities.
Age data and population numbers are used to understand how an area is changing and estimate future program needs.

For more information or to complete your census online visit: https://www.census.gc.ca/
Please call 1-833-852-2026 for questions or any issues completing your census.

๐Ÿšง PARADE & FESTIVAL REMINDERS ๐Ÿšง

With thousands of people expected throughout Diamond Valley this Saturday, June 6, we strongly encourage everyone to:
๐Ÿšถ Walk
๐Ÿšฒ Ride bikes
๐Ÿš— Carpool between Black Diamond and Turner Valley whenever possible

Parade road closures and no parking along the route begin around 8:00 AM Saturday morning. Signage will be posted at least 24 hours before the event.

The parade route remains the SAME successful route as last year through the SW residential area of Black Diamond, helping keep downtown parking more available for local businesses and restaurants.

Park early, set up your chairs, then grab breakfast or coffee from one of our amazing local businesses or the Oilfields High School Pancake Breakfast before the parade begins at 10 AM!
๐ŸŽช After the parade, head over to Turner Valley for the Festival & Market from 11 AMโ€“3 PM.
Please note:
๐Ÿš— Parking around Millennium Park is limited. Many attendees will be parking respectfully along nearby residential streets, so please be patient and mindful of local residents.

๐Ÿ“ Accessible parking is available on 1 Ave SW between 1 St SW and Government Road near Subway.
