Some of residents were seen at the Caledonia Farmers Market buying some goods. Then others were at the horse racing. They had a wonderful day and left with tasty treats.

Friday Fun was eventful with Bowling and Bingo. There was a couple water gun fights amongst our resident and staff. Looks like a wonderful time.

We had one of our favorite folks out to play for us today. Rosemary wanted to get in on the fun for a couple of songs. Louise handed her mic over and Dwight handed his guitar. It was a wonderful afternoon.

It was a beautiful day for a bus trip to Hank Snow BBQ. Caught the end of Dick Henneberry, awesome as usual. We stayed around long enough to have BBQ Hot Dogs and listen to the wonderful music from the second band. It was so cold we had to make is short, and drive to get some drinks to warm everyone up. We also had a few walks and picked flowers for their table.

Good evening everyone,
We have an increased number of residents experiencing respiratory illness right now. For this reason, we are implementing mandatory masking for all staff and visitors, and we ask that all unnecessary visits be postponed at this time.

North Queens Nursing Home has received formal notice of strike action involving CUPE-represented workers, with job action expected to begin on June 8th, 2026 at 7:00am.

Our priority remains the safety, care, and wellbeing of our residents. We understand that this situation may be concerning for families, staff, and the broader community.

We have implemented contingency plans to support continuity of care and daily operations. As part of these plans, essential services will continue to be provided, including meals, personal care, and medications, in accordance with requirements for long-term care homes during labour action.

We recognize the important role of our staff and respect the ongoing collective bargaining process. At the same time, we remain focused on ensuring residents continue to receive safe, dependable, and respectful care.

North Queens Nursing Home remains open and operational. We are communicating directly with residents, families, and staff and will continue to provide updates as needed.

We had a wonderful Saturday with baking delicious chocolate chip cookies and our awesome entertainment from Tim and Kathy Whynot.
