Webinar | A Paradigm Shift on Scheduling and Operating High-Frequency Services by CIMA+

🚌 What if transit agencies could reduce bus bunching and improve reliability using the resources they already have?

Join OPTA and CIMA+ for an upcoming webinar exploring how transit agencies can move beyond traditional schedule-based operations by combining dynamic resource determination, headway-based management and simulation modelling.

High-frequency routes are often affected by unreliable service, overcrowding and bus bunching. While service levels, vehicle assignments and operator schedules may be established months in advance, passenger demand and operating conditions can change every day.

This webinar will examine how agencies can use historical and predictive data to better align vehicles and operators with anticipated conditions, while respecting operator collective bargaining agreements. Participants will also learn how headway-based management can improve vehicle spacing, reduce pressure on operators and deliver more reliable service for passengers.

1️⃣ Objective 1: Identify the root causes of unreliability and bus bunching on high-frequency transit routes, and explain the limitations of traditional schedule-based operations.
2️⃣ Objective 2: Explain how dynamic resource determination and headway-based management can improve service reliability, passenger experience, and resource utilization while respecting operator collective bargaining agreements.
3️⃣ Objective 3: Evaluate how simulation models can be used to test operating strategies, quantify expected benefits, and support implementation and organizational change before deployment.
