💻📚 It’s National Online Learning Day!

Did you know our own Burlington Public Library – Aldershot Branch can help you take learning beyond the bookshelves?

BPL offers free digital learning resources with your library membership, including online courses through LinkedIn Learning and language learning tools. And if you need a computer to get started, public computers are available at every BPL branch, plus the Aldershot Branch has Chromebooks available to borrow for use inside the library.

Whether you want to learn a new skill, explore a new interest, or simply get a little more comfortable online, there’s a great resource right here in our community.

Meet Your Ward 1 Candidates

Ward 1 residents are invited to join Partnering Aldershot for an evening of local conversation and civic engagement.

On Thursday, September 17 from 7:30–9:00 p.m. at East Plains United Church, hear directly from the four candidates seeking to represent Ward 1 and learn where they stand on issues including traffic, development, parks, housing, and the future of our community.

🌿 Sometimes the best way to enjoy Aldershot is to slow down and take a walk.

Tree-lined paths, a place to sit, local businesses just around the corner and plenty to discover along the way. It’s these everyday spaces that help turn a neighbourhood into a community.

Take the long way home. Grab a coffee. Stop into a local shop. Find a bench and stay awhile.

Some Plains Road history!

Plains Road used to be Hwy 2, a direct route from Toronto to Hamilton and beyond. Aldershot was well served by gas stations on this highway over the years. I put this map together from information in the Burlington Historical Society archives. I am hoping some of the older residents of Aldershot can help with corrections and updates for this map.
