Grade 6 students from Wi******er Public School - UCDSB are combining research, environmental stewardship, and hands-on learning through an exciting bird conservation project.

After researching local bird species and their habitats, students built nesting boxes that will be installed at the Bird Sanctuary outside of Ingleside.

To help visitors learn more, students are also creating informational materials to accompany each box, highlighting the bird it was built for! 🦉🕊️

🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ After 7 weeks of determination and dedication, Linklater Public School - UCDSB students are crossing the finish line! 🏁

They’ve been logging laps each week toward an incredible goal of 42.2 km—the distance of a marathon.

On Thursday, Linklater families are invited to celebrate alongside our runners as they complete their final kilometre, with hot dogs and smoothies provided by The Hungry Herbivore and the Linklater Breakfast Club.

Students who have completed the full marathon distance will receive a medal. And while 42.2 km is impressive, a few dedicated runners have gone the extra mile—reaching an incredible 150 km! Those students will join Principal Cliff Williams for a special lunch.

Way to go, Lynx! 🎉
