WHEN EVERY SECOND COUNTS

Every call to 9-1-1 is taken seriously — because behind each one could be someone fighting for their life.

But when 9-1-1 is used for non-emergencies, it ties up dispatchers and first responders who may be needed elsewhere… where seconds truly matter.

📞 Calling 9-1-1 for things like:
❌ Noise complaints
❌ Minor inconveniences
❌ General inquiries

…can delay help for:
❤️ Someone having a heart attack
🔥 A home on fire
🚗 A serious collision

Know the difference. Make the right call.

If it’s an emergency — call 9-1-1 immediately.
If not — please use non-emergency lines or local services.

Your decision could save a life.

Opening the Cottage? Make Fire Safety Your First Task

Before you settle in for another great season at the cottage, take a few minutes to protect what matters most. A quick safety check now can prevent a devastating fire later.

✅ Test your smoke & carbon monoxide alarms
✅ Inspect electrical cords and appliances
✅ Check and clean heating equipment & chimneys
✅ Clear away debris around the structure and propane tanks
✅ Make sure you have a working fire extinguisher and an evacuation plan

Cottages can be in remote areas where help may take longer to arrive—being prepared makes all the difference.

In case of emergency, call 911. Fire safety is everyone’s responsibility.

Enjoy the season safely!

During National Paramedic Week, we recognize and thank paramedics across Ontario and beyond for the vital care, compassion, and professionalism they provide every day.

We are especially grateful to the dedicated members of the Leeds Grenville Paramedic Service, who continue to serve our community with skill, commitment, and unwavering compassion in every call they respond to.

Whether responding to emergencies, supporting patients in difficult moments, or working alongside partner agencies to improve outcomes, paramedics make a difference when it matters most.

Thank you for all that you do.
