Last evening, our Programming Committee facilitated the first fun 2026 event for guests!
“Vall-o-Ween” trivia night & Ice Cream Sundae bar was hosted by Tay, Sara, & Britt to celebrate both Friday The 13th & Valentine’s Day. 🖤
With themed horror movie, Valentine’s & Halloween questions- the guests totally rocked it! 🧛🏻‍♀️👻🎃🤡💋💘🏹

(Dawn was our lovely cook in the back, and prepared the most deliciously comforting dish of Goulash for supper!)

A full evening filled with laughter, smiles, and yummy snacks bringing our community together. 🫶🏼

There was a little elf 🧝🏻‍♂️ busy at work last night, sorting & wrapping gifts from our The SSODA Clause initiative…
She just wants to send another big thank you to those who have donated and helped fulfill our guests Christmas wishes. We know that these gifts & donations will bring warm smiles to each recipient.💛

Everyone at SSODA & Roof25 has been very busy Santa’s Helper’s these past few months, and we want to extend our heartfelt gratitude for all the love, support, and kindness from our community in this season.

Together, we continue to build bridges- not walls- and create a community where everyone belongs.

Thursday blessings to you, from all of us.
Thank you. ✨

Good day everyone!
I just wanted to share a reminder to all whom adopted our guests for Christmas, that gifts were to be dropped off December 15 (yesterday) at SSODA office. 🏘️

However, we know the weather may have impacted that, so we are accepting drop offs by Thursday Dec. 18- at the LATEST 4pm.
- pick-up’s or other arrangements may be made with staff directly. ❄️☃️

We are also still collecting donation items such as;
Socks, mittens/gloves, hats, body wash, lip chap, hand warmers, etc. and those can also be dropped off to SSODA at 373 King St, Bridgewater.🧤🧣🧦

We thank you all so much for your kindness & generosity in this season, as we know everyone is facing their own struggles. 🤲🏼🤍

Warmest regards and best wishes this holiday. 🎄✨
Much gratitude,
The team at Roof25 & SSODA.

🎄✨ Join the staff from SSODA and Roof 25 at the Bridgewater Holiday Parade! ✨🎄

On November 29, South Shore Open Doors Association and Roof 25 are teaming up to help Santa get ready for the North Pole’s Night Shift, and we need your help!

We’re collecting new or gently used blankets during the parade to support individuals experiencing homelessness this winter. 🧣❤️

Bring a blanket, spread some warmth, and enjoy the magic of the parade with us!

Every donation makes a difference!

Blessed Saturday to all!

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to those who have joined the The SSODA Clause group in support of our local overnight shelter this Christmas and our "Adopt-A-Guest" program.

Starting at 12pm today (AST)
I will be posting guests anonymously with a short little blurb about them and some of their favourite things, so you can curate a personalized care package just for them!
- this week I had time to sit down with 9 individual guests during my shifts to hear their Christmas wishes, and aim to get everybody in that wants to participate over the next 2 weeks. 🙂

Just seeing their eyes light up, when I asked each of them what they wanted for Christmas, was a reminder to them that people DO care.

*Please note*
If there are any "bigger" ticket items you may not be able to achieve on their list, please reach out to us here and we will do our best to help fulfill those items for folks within reason.
Once a guest has been "adopted" it will be noted at the top of their post.
DROP OFF will be at SSODA office on 373 King St in Bridgewater, unless other arrangements are made with staff. by DECEMBER 15th!!
Please leave gifts unwrapped- staff will do this. 🙂

This is our first year offering a program like this, so if you have any questions please reach out. We are trying our best because our guests deserve the best too! 🙂

With much love,

Taylor W. - Shelter Team Lead

🎄💫 The SSODA Clause: Adopt-a-Guest for Christmas! 💫🎄
The holiday season is about community, kindness, and connection — and this year, we invite you to help spread that warmth through our Adopt-a-Guest Christmas Initiative! ❤️

Starting November 15, you can “adopt” one of our shelter guests for Christmas by choosing an anonymous wish list online here on Facebook or picking up a gift tag in person at the SSODA Office (373 King St, Bridgewater).
Each tag represents someone staying with us at Roof25 Overnight Shelter, and every gift is a reminder that they’re not alone this holiday season. 🎁

Here’s how to take part:
✨ Choose a guest wish list (online or in person)
🎅 Bring your gift unwrapped
📦 Drop it off by December 15 at the SSODA Office – 373 King St, Bridgewater.

Together, we can share a little love, hope, and holiday cheer — making sure everyone under the Roof feels at home for the holidays. 🏠💖
For more information, reach out to SSODA or message us here on the Roof25 page.

"Because no one should have to choose between eating and surviving."

At Roof 25, food is one of our greatest priorities. Guests are always offered a nutritious dinner meal, as well as a breakfast meal and accessible snacks are always out.

Roof 25 has a Meal Train that allows members of the community to prepare a meal. Please see the link below if this is something that interests you: https://www.mealtrain.com/trains/31vnr8

Today we recognize a critical but often overlooked reality: food insecurity and malnutrition are deeply intertwined with substance use and mental health challenges.

At our harm reduction site, we see firsthand how hunger and unmet basic needs can drive people deeper into cycles of distress and substance use. Starvation and malnutrition are not just issues of access to food—they are part of the broader social determinants of health that include poverty, housing instability, trauma, and systemic marginalization.

When someone doesn’t know where their next meal is coming from, it's much harder to focus on healing, recovery, or wellness. Substance use can sometimes become a way to cope with the pain of hunger, isolation, or the daily struggle to survive. This is why harm reduction must go beyond just addressing drug use—it must also meet people where they're at, with compassion, food, warmth, and dignity.

On this International Day Against Starvation and Malnutrition, we reaffirm our commitment to supporting the whole person. That means making sure people have access to food, shelter, connection, and non-judgmental care.

Because no one should have to choose between eating and surviving.
