Be it through programs, special events, facilities, parks, beaches, trails, open spaces or community partnerships, contact us first for information about Recreation in the District of Lunenburg. ✨📚Join us on the Storybook Trail! 📚🎶

Families are invited to visit The Storybook Trail with children’s author and music educator, Jennifer Britton (If You Could Be Anything, There’s A Song In The Forest).

Children of all ages will explore the songs of the forest through guided listening, musical and storytelling activities. ✨

Where: Miller Point Peace Park (13941 HWY 3, Dayspring)
When: 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 3rd. (Rain date October 4th)

Registration: This is a free event, however we are asking everyone to register in advance to give us an idea of numbers.

🚧 Sawpit Wharf Park Notification

Please be advised that work will begin at Sawpit Wharf Park on Monday, September 21, 2026, to remove the existing wharf structure in preparation for its replacement. 🛠️

Access to the boat ramp and green space will be temporarily permitted until wharf demolition is complete and construction begins. 🚤🌳

Phase 1 of a Major Improvement Project is beginning! 🎉

In 2024, a concept plan for the park was developed through public input and by working closely with the Sawpit Wharf Park Advisory Committee. In 2025, the decision was made to close the wharf structure due to safety concerns, and it remains closed at this time.

🌟 We know this may be inconvenient, but there’s good news. These upgrades will bring:

🪵 A brand-new timber wharf
⚓ A new floating dock system
🛶 An accessible canoe and kayak launch
🚤 Improvements to the boat launch

These improvements will help make future use of Sawpit Wharf Park even better for everyone. 🌊💚

🌳⚓ As users of the park, the Municipality of the District of Lunenburg asks for your cooperation and patience as we make investments to improve services provided at the Park.

If you have some small pieces of beach treasures that you would like to incorporate into your artwork, please bring them along. You will create a beautiful 8”x10” piece of art that you can take home the same day (it must lay flat for 24 hours to fully cure). All supplies included. Please wear old clothes. 🌊🐚

It’s essential to protect the health and safety of your customers. The course will be delivered in a format that’s interesting, fun, and straightforward. It covers the causes and types of food borne illness and emphasizes practices designed to enhance food safety. Topics will include food preparation and storage, personal hygiene, and sanitation. 🦠🍕
