Just like to say a big Thank You! to all the people that I talked to at the Sustainability expo in Bridgewater today. I set up my 20 foot dome as a demo for people to see what it is all about. I can't believe the huge amount of interest there was in the dome display. Its so nice to see so many people who are excited to think outside the box!

After shoveling snow off the roof of some of my friends houses, it occurred to me that I was not the least bit worried about the snow load on top of my domes. With a load value of 2000 lbs every 4 feet, I was sure that a measly 4 feet of snow was not even close to what my domes can handle. It is a nice feeling.

Off grid dome rentals! This is a concept that I have been thinking about lately. I have been toying with the idea of building some off the grid rental units. I would really appreciate knowing if anyone out there would be interested in these. A small 20' bachelor dome would rent for about $600/month and a 1 bedroom 25' dome would rent for about $750/month. Heat,hot water and lights included. This is a photo of a home just north of Red Deer Alberta that I visited a few years ago. They are off the grid and loving it. This is quite an amazing concept. These small rental units are only 20' domes (320 sqr. ft.) They are a small bachelor rental units. The renters love them because you can't hear your neighbor and they are very warm and secure. Good ROI as well. Cool!

This dome has an interesting stone/brick exterior. I like the front archway. It will probably last forever. You can get some pretty neat aesthetics to the outside of your dome. Cool!
