Not only does SSODA provide direct supports to people who need it, we also identify gaps in services and work to close them.

We are a connector in our community. We centralize data about homelessness and housing insecurity, connect households to housing appropriate for them, and also advocate for changes to the system to make sure households don’t fall through the cracks.

Coordinated access replaces fragmented services with a streamlined, community-wide system that matches households to housing based on need.

We use centralized data to prioritize the most vulnerable, reduce duplication of efforts, and ensure faster access to housing.

Coordinated access is a cornerstone best practice and a mandatory requirement for communities receiving funding through ‘Reaching Home: Canada’s Homelessness Strategy’

Update: [7:15 p.m.] - Red Cross has completed their work here at Town Hall. Town Hall is now closed for the evening.

For our residents needing support due to the King Street fire, Red Cross is set up onsite at Town Hall until 7 p.m.

Please note that support will still be available After 7 p.m., by calling the Canadian Red Cross at: 1-800-222-9597.

Donations are currently not being collected by Town of Bridgewater or Red Cross. Please do not drop off items at this time.

Meet our Intensive Case Manager, Jack.

Our Intensive Case Management program provides a high level of support to help address the challenges you’re working through.

We use a housing first approach, meaning we believe access to safe and accessible housing is the first step to address your needs.

The first step is booking an intake with our Housing Navigator, and if Intensive Case Management makes sense for you, the Housing Navigator will connect you to Jack.

What can you expect when reaching out to get support from SSODA?

STEP 1

You can reach out to our Household Navigator Dayna by phone or email: (902) 521-0994,
[[email protected]](mailto:[email protected])

It usually takes up to 3 business days for Dayna to get back to you because we have such a high volume of calls and emails.

STEP 2

After you’ve received an appointment time, you will meet with Dayna either virtually or in-person at our office. We operate by appointment only and we do not have capacity for drop-in services.

During your intake meeting, Dayna will ask about your housing situation and gather other information about your life situation to help match you with services that can help.

STEP 3

After you do your intake meeting, Dayna will refer you to the service providers in our community who can best meet your needs.

We call this a warm referral because Dayna will pass on your information and situation to the next person you meet with so they are ready to help. This avoids you having to tell your story to multiple people more than once.

This is what we mean when we say Roof 25 is a ‘low barrier’ shelter.

Our shelter is open nightly from 8pm and 8am (doors close at 11pm).

You’ll find us at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 25 Phoenix St, Bridgewater.
