Our Piece by Piece: Library Puzzle Challenge was a great success! Five teams gathered at our Lakefield branch last night to test their puzzling prowess. Congratulations to our winners, who completed their 500-piece puzzle in 42 minutes and 55 seconds. Thank you to all who participated, and we hope to see you at our next challenge in July!

Join us at the Lakefield Library for a writing workshop with author Laurie D. Graham. Writers of all genres and experience levels are invited to this workshop on writing creatively about family history. Laurie D. Graham, author of the new poetry collection Calling It Back to Me, will lead participants in writing exercises that dig deeper into the lives and realities of family and forebears through the material of their lives.

Bring an heirloom, a photo, or a family tale, as well as something to write with and a willingness to explore your backstory with openness and curiosity in a supportive environment.

Light refreshments will be provided.

Join us on Thursday, August 6th for an unforgettable evening featuring a dazzling Elvis tribute by Patrick Balleux, an artist bringing twenty years of experience impersonating the King of Rock 'n' Roll. His The King Today show will have you tapping your toes and singing along to timeless classics. Enjoy a cash bar and concessions.

Your support will raise essential funds for Selwyn Public Library, ensuring the continued delivery of programs and services that benefit and enrich our community.

Save the date! The Lakefield Literary Festival Children's Tent Event is returning on Saturday, July 18th!

The Children's Tent Event is a fun, free, and engaging experience for kids young and old! Each year we invite Canadian authors and illustrators to join us to celebrate their work and share Canadian picture books and novels with children. At the event there will be a special author parade to the stage, engaging presentations by authors, and lively introductions by local children, as well as our famous book draw for attendees.

This year's presenters are author and illustrator Marcus Cutler and author Loretta Garbutt. The authors will be available for books signing after the event and Happenstance Books & Yarns will be selling titles by each author.

Event date: Saturday July 18th at 10:00 a.m.
Shine location: Cenotaph Park, Lakefield.
Rain location: Lakefield United Church
