📢 Exciting news! 📢

The Township of Ramara is advising residents that Arenes Construction Ltd. has begun mobilizing equipment today (Sept. 4) at the Ramara Centre in anticipation of the Baseball Diamond Revitalization Project. Construction is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2026.

🚧 Construction is expected to be completed by early October. During this period, access to the baseball diamond and the immediate surrounding area will be restricted to ensure the safety of residents, visitors, and construction personnel.

🏢 The Ramara Centre will remain open and accessible for public use and enjoyment throughout the construction period, including the sports fields and playground.

💫 The Township of Ramara appreciates the community's patience during this project. These improvements will help enhance the baseball diamond and ensure residents can continue to enjoy this recreational space.

The Township of has received notice today (September 3, 2026) from the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit that swim advisories have been issued for Lagoon City Park Beach and for The Steps due to higher than normal bacteria counts.

A swim advisory is issued when bacterial levels exceed the level considered acceptable by the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit. An advisory is a warning to swimmers, but it is not a beach closure.

🎓🔥 Heading off to school and moving into a new place?

Along with unpacking boxes and getting settled, take a few minutes to think about fire safety.

Ramara Fire & Rescue Services is sharing an important reminder from the Ontario Fire Marshal: know how you’ll get out before you need to.

🏠 Know two ways out
🚪 Keep exits and hallways clear
📍 Choose a meeting spot outside
👥 Make sure your roommates know the plan

Thanks to Ramara Fire & Rescue for helping students start the school year safely. Check out their post below for more important fire safety tips.

A Message from the Ontario Fire Marshal:

Moving into a new place for school is exciting. Remember to plan your way out.

Students have so many things to think about when moving into a new place but fire safety matters too. Before a smoke or carbon monoxide alarm sounds, plan two ways out of every room and plan a meeting spot outside which saves critical time in an emergency.

Fire Safety Plan: Review fire safety information provided by your landlord.

Bedrooms: Make sure windows and doors open easily
Hallways/Stairs: Keep exits clear of boxes, bags, shoes and clutter.
Roommates: Agree on a meeting spot outside and make sure everyone knows the plan.
Practice: Walk the escape routes so you don’t have to figure it out under pressure.
