From September 14 to 18, we’re recognizing Kinship & Alternate Care Awareness Week.

Kin help preserve and strengthen the connections to family, culture and community that shape a child or youth’s identity and sense of belonging. Their support can help families stay together and provide care when a child or youth cannot safely remain at home.

This week, we celebrate the relatives, extended family and community members who offer this care, connection and support.
