Our Story
Gimli Cadet Flying Training Centre (CFTC) is located at the former RCAF Station in Gimli, Manitoba, approximately 100 km north of Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Gimli CFTC provides three training courses during its summer operations including the three-week Basic Aviation Technology and Aerospace Course and the coveted six-week Glider Pilot Scholarship. Gimli CFTC also provides support and oversight for the Power Pilot Scholarship conducted at civilian aviation schools across the region.
Although aviation training for cadets in Northwest region has changed locations over the years, cadet pilots have received training in the region since 1965 and it has been at its current location in Gimli since 2000.
