🌩️Community Storm Preparedness Message 🌩️
Relatives,
Environment Canada is forecasting severe weather for our area. We encourage all community members to take the necessary precautions to keep themselves, their families, and their homes safe.
Please take time to secure outdoor items, charge cell phones and electronic devices, prepare flashlights and batteries, and ensure you have enough food, water, medications, and essential supplies on hand in the event of a power outage.
As Dakota people, we know the importance of looking after one another. We ask community members to check in on Elders, relatives living alone, families with young children, and anyone who may need extra support during this weather event.
If you experience an emergency, please call 911 immediately.
Community emergency resources are available should they be needed. We encourage everyone to stay informed, monitor weather updates, and avoid unnecessary travel during severe weather conditions.
Most importantly, take care of one another. A simple phone call, message, or visit can make a difference for someone who may need support.
Please stay safe, stay prepared, and keep our community in your prayers as we move through this storm together.
Mitakuye Oyasin.
All My Relations.
