Supporting people and reducing waste? That's a win-win. ✅

An estimated 8,640 kg of disposable menstrual products were kept out of landfill through Help a Girl Out's one-year project, supported by Peel Region's Circular Economy Initiatives Fund.

The organization also delivered 39 workshops, taught sewing skills to 599 participants, and created and distributed 1,600 reusable menstrual pads to community members who need them most. Together, these efforts created lasting benefits for both people and the environment. ♻️💙

Airport Road between Emma Street and Hilltop Drive has reopened ahead of schedule and in time for the Labour Day long weekend.

Two lanes of Airport Road are now open in each direction, and a pedestrian bridge has been installed over the Centreville Creek to maintain pedestrian access for residents and businesses.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as storm sewer and bridge works were ongoing. The work will benefit our community both now and in the future.

The Youth and Poverty Research Project is being guided by youth through the Peel Poverty Reduction Committee's Youth Advisory Table. Youth advisors are helping to create research tools, interpret findings, develop recommendations, and share results with decision-makers.
Young people are the experts in their own experiences.

That's why we're asking youth ages 15-24 across Peel to share their perspectives on the realities of poverty and financial stress.
