Why go over when you can go through?

Check out some of the latest wildlife visitors making their way through the EcoPassages beneath Heart Lake Road!

These crossings give wildlife a safer way to move across the landscape without crossing the road, while helping keep important habitats connected. 🌿

Who will we spot using the EcoPassages next?

Flooding can happen at any time of year, but warmer temperatures can increase the risk around homes and neighbourhoods. 🌧️

Heavy rain can lead to fast-moving water and flooding on streets, in basements and across low-lying areas.

A few simple steps at home can help reduce the risk:

✔️ Clear debris from eavestroughs so water can drain properly
✔️ Move important documents and valuables out of your basement

Preparing early can help protect what matters before water levels rise. 🏠

Heavy rainfall can lead to localized flooding across and may make some areas unsafe for vehicles and pedestrians. 🌧️⚠️

➡️ If basement water rises above electrical outlets, baseboard heaters, your furnace or electrical panel, DO NOT enter the basement until power has been disconnected by the local electrical utility.
➡️ Do not drive or walk through floodwaters.
➡️ Keep away from standing water and downed power lines.
➡️ Report roadway flooding by calling 311.

If you encounter flooding, keep your distance and put safety first.
