Today, in the first of several Indigenous History Month workshops and programs, the lovely Jennifer Bahinski hosted a dreamcatcher workshop!

Dreamcatchers have four beautiful parts: the hoop representing the circle of life, the feathers that ensure only good dreams slip to the dreamer, the web which catches the bad dreams, and the beads which catch dreams that were turned into wisdom.

We wish everyone wonderful dreams tonight and always.

Thank you to Jennifer for sharing this meaningful craft and knowledge with our community! Be sure to stop by on Wednesday for an elder talk with Jeff Monague or join us on Sunday, June 21 for National Indigenous People's Day.

"Not the history you find in history books..."

Discover the history of the land beneath our feet, told through generations of oral tradition at a vital presentation for Indigenous History Month.

Date: Wednesday, June 17, 2026, 7 - 8:30 pm

We are deeply honoured to welcome Ojibwe Elder and knowledge keeper Jeff Monague. As a former Chief of the Beausoleil First Nation, Canadian Forces Veteran, and former Director of Treaty Research, Jeff brings an extraordinary depth of knowledge and lived experience.

This presentation offers a profound look at the oral history of our region, tracing local events from the eras leading up to the Williams Treaties right through to the present day.

Come with an open mind and leave with a deeper understanding of our shared community and heritage.
